Why Commissioners Work With Us

What a small, local, nurse-led provider brings to a contract.

Nurse-Led Oversight

Our Registered Manager is a registered nurse. Clinical judgement sits at the centre of how care is assessed, planned and reviewed.

Local and Responsive

Our office is in Corby and our carers live and work in the area. Short travel distances mean more reliable call times and the ability to pick up new packages, including hospital discharges, quickly.

Directly Employed Team

Carers are recruited, trained and supervised by us. We no longer use agency staff, and keep agency access only as emergency cover, with full vetting of any worker supplied.

Digital From Day One

Visits, tasks, medication prompts, supervision and care notes are recorded in real time on the Birdie care platform, so we can evidence delivery and share accurate information at contract reviews.

Governed Policies

Our policy set is held on QCS, a nationally recognised care compliance system, and is available to every member of staff. HR and health and safety support is provided through Citation.

Straightforward to Work With

One point of contact, clear answers to due diligence questions and a Director who is involved in every contract. If we cannot take a package safely, we say so.

Leadership and accountability

  • Director: overall accountability for the service, contracts, finance and data protection. Responsibility for data protection sits with the Director.
  • Registered Manager: registered with the CQC to manage the regulated activity, and lead for care quality, safeguarding, staff supervision and clinical oversight.

Services we can deliver under contract

  • Personal care at home, including washing, dressing, continence care and mobility support.
  • Medication prompting, recorded at every visit on the electronic care record. We currently prompt rather than administer, and have the capacity to extend to administration where a package requires it.
  • Dementia care, with consistent carers and routines built around the person.
  • Live-in care, within our current CQC registration scope.
  • Respite and short-term care, including support after a hospital stay.
  • Companionship and help to stay connected with the community.
  • Support for adults with physical disabilities.

Insurance

  • Employers' liability: £10,000,000.
  • Public and products liability: £10,000,000, including a care and treatment endorsement covering professional errors or omissions in the provision of care.
  • Breach of professional duty extension: £2,000,000.
  • Certificates and the full schedule are available on request.

Data security and information governance

  • Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration ZB679224.
  • Registered on the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit, ODS code C9R2, and working towards our 2026 to 2027 submission.
  • An Information Asset Register and Record of Processing Activities under Article 30 of the UK GDPR.
  • A data protection policy and privacy notice, with the Director accountable for data protection.
  • Digital care records, with visits, tasks and medication prompts recorded at the point of care and access controlled by role.

Workforce

  • Care staff employed directly, with further carers completing training as we grow.
  • Right to work checks, Enhanced DBS checks and references before anyone starts.
  • Structured induction with a completed induction checklist, shadowing, and the Care Certificate for staff new to care.
  • Supervision and appraisal recorded digitally on the Birdie platform.
  • Where agency staff were used in the past, we obtained a full worker profile covering right to work, DBS, training records, photographic ID and proof of address, and set each worker up on our care and policy systems before deployment.

Business continuity

We hold a business continuity plan so that care continues if something goes wrong, such as staff shortages, severe weather, loss of the office or a systems outage. Visits are prioritised by risk so that the people with the greatest need are always covered first.

How We Mobilise a New Contract or Package

The same disciplined route every time, so commissioners know what to expect.

  1. Referral and Capacity Check

We confirm within the agreed timescale whether we can safely take the package, based on location, call times and carer availability.

  2. Assessment

The Registered Manager or a senior member of staff meets the person, and their family where appropriate, to understand needs, risks, preferences and outcomes.

  3. Care Plan and Risk Assessment

A person-centred care plan is written on the Birdie platform, including mental capacity considerations, and shared with the person and the commissioner.

  4. Carer Matching and Start

We introduce a small, consistent team of carers and start visits on the agreed date, with early checks in the first weeks.

  5. Review and Reporting

Care is reviewed regularly and when needs change, and we report on delivery, quality and social value at contract reviews.
